Perth, Scotland - Tuesday 5th - September 2023 - Scottish Summit is thrilled to announce a significant milestone in its journey towards supporting the Microsoft community and making a lasting impact to local community groups in and around Scotland. The organisation has successfully obtained charitable status as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) with the approval of the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR). Scottish Summit is now officially recognised as a charitable entity and has been entered into the Scottish Charity Register under charity number SC052785.
"The attainment of SCIO status signifies a pivotal moment for Scottish Summit, demonstrating its commitment to being a community that is ‘Inclusive by Design’ by offering opportunities to people from all backgrounds.” said Mark Christie, Co-founder of Scottish Summit. "This milestone is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, volunteers, and supporters who have continually championed our mission to make a positive difference."
This development also enables the Scottish Summit team to collaborate more extensively with local community groups and engage with government and funding bodies. The organisation is dedicated to creating opportunities for individuals who may not have the ability or means to attend events, ensuring that a wider cross-section of individuals can benefit from its initiatives.
Furthermore, Scottish Summit remains committed to its philanthropic objectives by continuing to raise funds for a chosen charity partner at each of its events. Donations made during these events will be directed directly to the selected charity partner for the year, further amplifying the organisation's impact on charitable causes.
In a win-win scenario for corporate sponsors, those supporting Scottish Summit events can claim the sponsor donation back against their yearly corporation tax bill. This not only demonstrates their commitment to corporate social responsibility but also provides tangible benefits to their bottomline.
Scottish Summit extends its gratitude to OSCR for their thorough assessment and recognition of its charitable status. The team are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and remains steadfast in its mission to create a brighter future for Scotland and beyond.
